Single Chinese butterfly sword in a lacquer over wood scabbard. Fluted rosewood handle has one stable crack, and an iron hand guard. The 12" long blade is think and solid, and the scabbard has brass fittings that have a dark patina. The tip of the scabbard is chipped and missing a small part. 16" overall, early 20th century.
