| #PH192: Unusual Philippine sword from the Batangas area of Luzon with early influence of American design. This sword looks to have been made after the style of an American officer or dress sword, and it is my belief that these people helped fight with the Americans against the Southern Philippine peoples. The horn handle is in the form of a figure, and it is decorated with some aluminum and a brass hand guard and collar. There are three papers that say "Philippine" and "Victory" set under thick glass that are inlayed into the handle. The original scabbard is made of leather with aluminum and brass decorations. Late 19th or early 20th century...........Sold | |
