#PH318: Moro kris sword with an ivory handle for an important person or Datu. This high quality sword has a cockatoo style 4” ivory pommel that is in very good condition and has a beautiful yellow color from age and handling. The grip is covered with alternating bands of copper and silver that have good detail designs chiseled into the surface. The blade has 7 gentle waves and slight pattern that shows a hardened edge. The ganja is made of a separate piece of metal, and there is one white metal stirrup that may be a later replacement as it looks to be aluminum. The scabbard is old and original with a nice detail of small inlay metal dots as a decoration as well as an old cloth wrap and metal bands. Late 19th to very early 20th century, 28” overall with a 22” blade…..Price on request |
