An early all steel Southern India fighting sword. The hand guard is well forged with an animal head terminal as is often seen on the hooded Katar of this period. There is also a distinct battle scar on the hand guard. The blade has two fullers and a worn tip. This relatively simple sword looks to have seen a lot of use and battle. 38 inches overall with a 32 inch blade . Late 1th or early 18th century, Southern India . ....$950.00 |
