PH820: Moro Jungayan Barong

A large and rare Moro Jungayan Barong sword. The large expanded cockatoo form Jungayan handle is made with a finely grained wood with a good patina from age and use. The collar is made of silver. The large and heavy blade is well forged showing a good pattern and hardened edge. Unfortunately there is no scabbard with this one.    

23" overall with a 15" blade that is 3/8" thick at the back edge. 19th Century. Southern Philippines .
