PH823: Moro Datu Kris Sword

A large and beautiful Moro Datu kris sword. The cockatoo form pommel has a lot of wear and patina from many years of use. The rattan handle wrap is a modern replacement. The long and heavy blade is well forged with a distinct linear pattern and a hardened edge. There is also one small talisman dot of gold inlayed into one side of the blade near the ganja.     

28" overall with a 23.5" blade. 19th Century. Southern Philippines .
