PH839:  Long Talibon Garab Sword

A very long Talibon / Garab sword from the central Philippine island of Samar, Leyte or possibly Cebu. The wood handle has a monster head and a good patina from age and use. The blade is extra long and shows a slight hardened edge. The scabbard is in good condition with most of the rattan binding intact.     

30 inches overall with a 24 inch blade, 3/16 inch back edge. Early 20th century, Central Philippines.
