AS622: Chinese Sword

A small but heavy Chinese sword. This looks like a sword form a butterfly double set, but it is NOT, as it does not have the flat side on the handle and guard. The rosewood handle is in the round and has floral designs on each side. The bronze hand guard is symmetrical and not made to fit with another sword. The blade is very thick and heavy with a slight pattern showing near the tip.     

23 inches overall with a 18.5 inch blade. ½ inch at back edge. 19th century, China.
